Text message consent

How shops using ServiceRove collect consent to text their customers. Last updated 7 October 2026

Shops using ServiceRove text their customers about the job those customers have asked them to do. Consent is collected by the shop, directly from the customer, before any message is sent.

How consent is collected

Most customers book a mobile mechanic by phone or in person, so consent is usually spoken. The shop asks, in these words:

MECHANIC:

Would you like to receive text messages from {Business name} about your appointment, when we arrive, and your estimate and invoice?

Message frequency varies, usually three to five per visit. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Our Privacy Policy is at servicerove.com/privacy and our Terms of Service at servicerove.com/terms.

MECHANIC: Do you agree to receive these text messages?

CUSTOMER: Yes.

MECHANIC: Thank you. Your consent has been recorded. You may receive a confirmation text shortly.

The customer answers yes or no. The business records the date and how consent was given on the customer’s record. If the customer does not say yes, no text messages are sent to them — they get email instead.

Where a customer books through a written form or a work order, the same wording appears next to the mobile number field, with an unticked box the customer chooses to tick.

What we send

These are messages about a job the customer asked for. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and consent to job messages is never treated as consent to marketing.

Message frequency varies by job — typically a handful of messages over the life of one job. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping messages

Reply STOP to any message to stop all further text messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact the shop directly. Opting out of text messages does not affect the job — the shop will reach the customer by email or phone instead.

Numbers are not shared

We do not share, sell, or provide mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy.
